Inside Line Promotions – OWASSO, Okla. (April 17, 2017) – Tony Bruce Jr. is heading to a familiar part of the Midwest this weekend to kick off his racing season.

Bruce Jr. and the Smith Racing No. 86 team will venture to 81 Speedway in Park City, Kan., for the Park City Cup/Air Capital Shootout, which pays $15,000 to win the finale of the event that is co-sanctioned with the NCRA and ASCS Red River Region.

“I grew up racing at that track and in that area,” said Bruce Jr., who was raised in nearby Liberal, Kan. “I’ve been there a lot of times throughout the years so it’s always exciting to head back.”

Bruce Jr. has enjoyed a great deal of success at the 3/8-mile oval, where he has earned a feature victory during each of the last two years. He also has at least one top five at the oval during three consecutive seasons.

“Our experience helps because that track usually gets pretty slick and we usually do well on slick tracks,” he said. “I think if we can get a good draw and not run into any bad luck we can be a contender come Saturday night.”

Bruce Jr. has two wins, four top fives and five top 10s during seven races at 81 Speedway since 2014.
